The Beyza Cases Retro Slim vertical sleeve is a very slim sleeve and it doesn't have any padding other than felt lining to help protect your iPad against scratches and dents. I would have liked to see the same kind of padding found on the Beyza Cases iPhone 4 pouch which is fantastic. Because the Retro Slim Vertical sleeve isn't padded, it does not offer much drop and shock protection to your iPad.
The Build quality couldn't have been better. The stitching is very robust and it looks like it will hold up very well overtime.
This leather sleeve is so form-fitting that you will have some hard time of getting your iPad into it and taking it out will be even harder at first. You are going to have to slide your fingers inside the sleeve to get a good grip of your iPad in order to take it out of the sleeve, there isn't a cutout at the bottom to help you push out your iPad. After a while the leather will adapt to the curved and shape of the iPad, and you will have an easier time taking out your iPad. The only part of your iPad that will be exposed is the top part of your iPad, though it sits flush within the sleeve.
Around the back you will notice the embossed Beyza Cases logo which isn't obtrusive. The whole design of this leather sleeve is very elegant, more so than others. I would recommend this leather sleeve for someone who seeks a low-profiled, sleek sleeve for their iPad to carry around with them. The quality is amazing, but it isn't very protective against drops. If you are already using your iPad without a case and just want a sleeve to have some sort of travel protection when you're not using your iPad, then the Beyza Cases Retro Slim Vertical sleeve is the right choice for you.
