As of 12:12 PST the Apple online store is down for updates. Maybe we will see those much awaited white iPhone 4's or maybe just some new 3rd party products. Let's hope for those white iPhones though!
Apple has just released a statement about the white iPhone and it is not good news. The white iPhone 4 is apparently much more difficult to manufacture than the black iPhone 4.
White models of Apple’s new iPhone 4 have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected, and as a result they will not be available until later this year. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.
If you are still waiting for the white iPhone 4, you may be waiting a long time for this mythical device.

It looks like Apple employees have already got their hands on shiny white iPhone 4's as seen in the video below from a Maroon 5 concert at Apple's headquarters. Hey at least we know Apple employees get treated very well.

While reporting the iPhone 4 launch in the UK, Sky News managed to grab a couple of shots of a white iPhone 4, despite it not being commercially available until late July due to "manufacturing difficulties." The video report was posted to 9to5mac (see the white iPhone at 1:23 and 1:31) and the iPhone's were probably just display products, but this just doesn't make any sense at all. However, Apple could of just done this to show it of to the press.

Apple has just released a press release stating that the white iPhone will not be available for purchase until the second half of july because "it is more difficult to manufacture," but nobody knows what those difficulties are. Apple also says that it will not affect the supply of the black iPhone 4. So if you want an iPhone 4 now, you have to get the black one, but if your heart is set on the white one, well another month you will have to wait.
Here is what the statment said:
"White models of Apple's new iPhone® 4 have proven more challenging to manufacture than expected, and as a result they will not be available until the second half of July. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected."

Well this is a surprise. As walmart.com is showing that they have the 16Gb iPhone 4 in white! And what's more, they are saying that it is "available for in store." Could be something to get our hopes up or could the iPhone 4 be in white at Walmart on June 24th?

Over the past few weeks, the EVO 4G has been the one of the best android handsets that you can buy. And when you thought it couldn't get any better, it did, as the of today you can pre-order a white EVO 4G! The handset will be sold exclusively through Best Buy until August 8th when the Sprint store will have it and September for all other retailers. So assuming that you managed to not get a balck EVO 4G and that the price will stay the same at $199, you must be mad not to get the white version.
