What If HTC's One Was Actually Apple's iPhone 6

HTC's One is undisputedly the best looking Android handset of the year, arguably borrowing a lot from Apple's unique design language and iconic build quality etiquette. Any iPhone user wouldn't be ashamed in admitting he or she would love to own one if only it were running iOS instead of Android. And that got us thinking, what would it be like if the HTC One was actually Apple's next generation iPhone? It would have been a marvelous 4.7-inch device running a totally revamped iOS 7, a truly reimagined iPhone built from the ground up with refreshing new features, and less of an iPhone circa 2007 influence to restrict innovation from moving forward.

In other words, we iOS users hope that Apple would take note of HTC's brilliant design and that includes simple things like a front-facing speaker, because there's an awful lot of tempting competition quickly rising which will turn many bored consumers over to the Green Side, or at least for a little while.

Now that HTC stepped up its game, we bet Apple is feeling the pressure from its customers and rivals like Samsung and HTC. The expectations for the iPhone 6 are extremely high. But until then, there is no doubt that we will see an iPhone 5S before any sort of breakthrough iPhone steps into fruition.

iPhone 5 Physical Mockup Is Beautiful

The alleged iPhone 5 is starting to take shape after case leaks suggested a redesigned body with iPad 2-like characteristics. Until now we've seen countless renders of how the iPhone 5 will supposedly look like, but now an actual physical mockup of an iPhone 5 was made based on recent case leaks and hardware components.

Based on CAD designs, hardware components, several leaked hints, cases and recent, believable mockups we created a three-dimensional computer model. This virtual model was then used to build a very detailed, true prototype that you can hold in your own two hands.

The process to create this prototype is the same that’s used to create the iPad. The back was machined from a sold block of aluminium, which was later treated with glass pearls to get the same slightly rough touch that we already know from the iPad.

iPhone 5 mockup on the right

We've seen exact physical mockups of the iPad 2 week before it was released that have proven to be on point thanks to various case leaks of the iPad 2. This iPhone 5 mockup could really be what Apple has up its sleeve for when it will announce the next new iPhone on October 4.

Will Apple Ever Release A White 27-Inch LED Thunderbolt Cinema Display?

It would make perfect sense for Apple to release a white bezeled 27-inch LED Thunderbolt Cinema Display for all the right reasons. As many of you already know, when Apple first released the iPad, it was only available in a black bezeled enclosure. Soon after it the black iPad took the world by storm, Apple released the iPad 2, a thinner and faster tablet in both black and white configurations. That has also been true with the release of the iPhone 4. Although it is true that Apple has kept the Mac and Cinema Displays in an identical color scheme of silvery raw aluminum and black bezeled enclosures, one might think what would be the next step Apple could take in order to give its loyal customers more variety to select from.

We've seen a steady trend of female iPad 2 and iPhone 4 users opting for the white colored iDevices, and that could very possibly be the same outcome if Apple releases a white 27-inch LED Cinema Display. Heck, even iMacs in both white and black bezels could be absolutely brilliant. All this is of course without thinking it thru all the way in terms of compatibility and how Apple markets their massive and expensive external display. Adding a white option to the LED Cinema Display means that Apple will also have to create MacBooks that also come in a white bezeled configuration. Because that would spur the perfect white matching desktop setup Apple has intended. But that isn't all that simple and could indeed be the reason why Apple hasn't released a white bezeled LED Cinema Display thus far. That, plus having a thick black bezel helps you concentrate more on what's going on in the screen.

It's very possible that we might see some sort of more color selection added to the lineup of Apple external displays, iMacs and even MacBooks. Until then, we'll just have to deal with what's currently available on the market.
