Apple Wants Its iPhone 5 Prototype Back (Video)

Apple really wants to find that missing iPhone 5 prototype and Conan loves to poke fun at Apple by making parody videos in similar Apple ad fashion. In case you've been living under a rock, Apple managed to lose yet another iPhone prototype in a bar and is currently doing everything it can to find it.

White iPod Touch Found In A Noodle Bar

Yeah, no joke. The guys over at M.I.C Gadget over in China went for lunch at a noodle bar in the city of Shenzhen when they found a white iPod Touch 4G that apparently someone has lost. As much as I would have liked to believe that this is in fact the real deal, unfortunately it isn't. It's only a black iPod Touch that underwent a transplant with a white front panel that we've seen surface in China. The white home button is only a sticker that was placed to hide the original black home button. Apparently the owner did a half-ass job! Doesn't it still look beautiful though? Come on Apple, where are those white iPod Touch 4Gs and 5Gs? See the video after the break.

iPhone 5 Prototype Lost At A Bar, Yes Again

Here it goes again. And I'm not talking about OK Go. Apple reportedly lost yet another iPhone prototype, this time it's likely to be the upcoming iPhone 5 by an employee at a bar called Cava 22 in San Francisco. Sounds familiar? That's because this has happened in a very familiar fashion with the iPhone 4 last year, which Gizmodo bought from someone who purchased it from the guy who found it at the bar for $5,000. I find it hard to believe that such kind of stupidity could happen twice. CNET reports that Apple has tried tracking their iPhone prototype but it is yet to be found. It's also reported that the iPhone 5 prototype has already been sold on Craigslist for only $200 by the person who found it at the Cava 22 bar. It isn't clear yet if the iPhone 5 prototype was disguised in an iPhone 4-like casing like Apple has done with the iPhone 4 prototype is has lost in the bar last year which was disguised inside an iPhone 3G-like casing.

At this time, the alleged iPhone 5 prototype is still roaming free in the wild and might even appear on the interwebs once the whole world finds out about this story. Yet again.

Find My iPhone is Now A Free Service, Find Your iOS Devices

MobileMe paid subscribers have been enjoying Apple's Find My iPhone services for a long time now, and today Apple has turned around and made this service completely free for iOS 4.2 users. The app allows you to locate a lost or stolen iPhone 4, iPad and iPod Touch 4G when you've got the app installed onto the device. You will need to create a free MobileMe account in order to setup the Find My iPhone app and begin locating your device/s. It's quick and easy so everyone should have this installed just in case.

You can remotely wipe all your data, set a passcode lock, display a custom message on the screen with a sound and even back your data. Thank you Apple, for looking after us. It's about time Apple renames their app though, don't you think?
