Bluelounge Jimi, A Clever Frustration-Free USB 3.0 Attachment For iMac

Designed to work only with Apple's ultra-slim 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMacs, Bluelounge's new Jimi is a USB 3.0 extension port that plugs into one of the iMac's four hard-to-reach rear facing USB 3.0 ports allowing you to charge and transfer data quickly using its front-facing USB 3.0 port. The Jimi is one of many similar USB extension adapters created to help iMac users avoid frustration with having to reach blindly around to connect a USB peripheral. We recently covered a similar solution called the iMaccompanion, which in comparison offers a more premium aluminum-made front-facing USB port extension that while may be a more sturdy adapter, is more expensive and only offers USB 2.0 support.

Made from a flexible material, the "J" shape of the Jimi enables it to secure and clip into the iMac's speaker/air vents without causing any cosmetic damage to the aluminum finish. You can purchase Bluelounge's Jimi today in black for $15.

iMacompanion Introduces A Front-Facing USB Port On iMacs

Don’t you hate it when you need to plug in something into one of the USB ports inconveniently placed around the back of your iMac? Well, there’s a simple fix for your USB port plugging problem. iMacompanion is a sturdy USB extension port that sits at the front of your iMac’s pedestal base, giving you a much more convenient and hassle-free USB port experience at all times. It’s also designed to naturally compliment your iMac with its silver, sandblasted anodized aluminum construction and clean aesthetic.

The iMacompanion USB port uses an incredibly thin flat cable which is hidden from plain sight and is routed underneath the base of the iMac so it looks as if it were a built-in feature. What isn’t so impressive is that fact that at this point and time, the iMacompanion is still a USB 2.0 due to certain limitations with regard to its ultra-thin cable design. If that doesn’t bother you though, you can pre-order yours right now and help fund this product on Kickstarter for $29.

Curb MacBook Stand Cools Using Lift, Looks Good Too

After it released its AL13 aluminum bumper case for the iPhone, Designed by M is looking to reduce the amount of heat your MacBook generates by elevating it in order to increase cooling air flow underneath it with what the company calls the Curb. Featuring a MagSafe power cord catcher notched in its center, the Curb is a long silicone stand designed as a minimalist scalene triangle so it can be used in two different firm elevation heights that work on a flat desk surface, your lap or on a bed while reducing heat and thus fan noise. The Curb isn't the first of its kind, but it is one of the more affordably priced and good looking stands out there. Designed by M's Curb will ship in October, and you can pre-order one starting today in 7 colors for $13.

Carbon Fiber Sleeves Carry Your MacBook Formula One Style

If you love the stellar look of real carbon fiber and the tough protection it offers, then you can now encase your MacBook inside one of these lightweight carbon fiber monocoque sleeves sprayed with an automotive-grade clear coat shimmering finish that brings out the depth and detail of the carbon fiber texture, and are made by a company in the USA called DFWcomposites.

The carbon fiber sleeve for both the 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air is designed to follow the original wedge shaped design using hand-made tapered edges. The 15-inch MacBook Pro with or without a Retina Display in particular features a foam interior lining, while every carbon fiber MacBook sleeve is strengthened and hardened to protect the precious cargo it encases. You can pre-order one starting at a reasonable $85 over at Kickstarter. If DFWcomposites' Kickstarter reaches its funding goal, backers are expected to receive their carbon fiber sleeves as early as November.

Wood MacBook Pro Keyboard Keys By RAW BKNY

Real wood skins are a popular iPhone accessory that seamlessly blend in with Apple's use of premium metal materials. And now you can give your MacBook Pro a beautiful rustic warmth with RAW BKNY's new wood keyboard keys. These are individual laser etched and precisely cut key tiles made from thin pieces of Rosewood wood or bamboo which you painstakingly apply key by key like a any skin.

RAW BKNY's wood keys come laid out on a single sheet, cut and ready to apply using a 3M adhesive much like Trunket skins. Unfortunately, these aren't designed to pass thru illumination and made to only fit non-Retina MacBook Pro keyboards. You can grab yours for $40 in either bamboo or Rosewood.
