Android Marketplace has 70k Apps

The Android marketplace has just passed the 70,000 apps. Now this was to be expected as the popularity of Android has skyrocketed in the past year. Also it only took 3 months to get from 50,000 apps to 70,000.

However, the big news is that AndroLib is saying that Android users have downloaded more than 1 billion apps from the android marketplace. That's an very impressive number, but is only an estimate and it has not been confirmed by Google.

An iPhone 4 Short Film

This Short film was entirely shot and edited right on the iPhone 4 using the new iMovie App for iPhone. It really is incredible and it took the makers behind this short film 48 hours to complete. Of course in order to get very stable results, the short film makers used custom camera dollies with the iPhone 4 mounted on. This short film really shows the full potential of the iPhone 4's HD camera. Note: To view this in HD, click the source link below.

Farmville for iPhone

The most popular social game on the internet, Farmville has released their iPhone app after demoing it at the WWDC keynote. The farmville will sync with your facebook farm so now you can plough, plant and harvest your crops on the iPhone on the move. The iPhone version of FarmVille has new touch controls that allow you to farm faster and easier.  The game also features new iDevice exclusive items which include a Snow Leopard for you to put on your farm.

But if you have got some money burning in your pocket you can use in-app purchases to buy huge amounts of coins and farm cash from anywhere between $4.99 – $49.99.

However, as this was intended for the iPhone 4 release, it looks like it doesn't have many iOS4 features, including multi-tasking and retina support.

Apple, Rumors Apple Store iPhone/iPad App Coming Tomorrow?

Nobody has much info on this at the moment, but BGR says that one of their Apple sources knows about an Apple-created appn for the iPhone and iPad that is set to be released tomorrow. It is supposed to be a Mobile version of Apple.com but as an app. It will be free in the App Store and will be able to make Genius Bar appointments, check product stock, book one to one training sessions, and shop the entire Apple product list. Apparently, the one of the reasons of this app is to let the user check in more swiftly to genius and training appointments. However we’ll know tomorrow…
