Soundmatters foxLO Subwoofer Injects More Thump Into Portable Speakers

Soundmatters, known for its portable bluetooth speakers, has revealed its first subwoofer called the foxLO. What's so special about it you ask? It's only the world's first palm-sized hi-fi subwoofer that features proprietary Magnetic Drive woofer technology with passive radiators that will add additional 25 watt amplification of clean, deep bass to the portable foxL v2 Bluetooth speaker once connected to its subwoofer output as well as any other portable bluetooth and non-Bluetooth speaker such as the Jambox using the foxLO's full pass audio output connection. But there is a catch, the foxLO is a little power hungry bugger and will require wall juice instead of running on a built-in rechargeable battery. Not so portable now.

It also features a USB output for charging your gadgets when connected to a wall outlet of course since there's no built-in battery remember? - and a bass volume adjuster. You'll be able to grab yours this spring for $149.

Nikon Speaker Lens Is Just What You Think It Is

Photography geeks are never satisfied with only coffee lens mugs, that's why this outrageously bad sounding single eBay speaker made to look like a Nikon 55-200mm lens would make a great stocking stuffer for the Holidays at around $20. It will probably alienate your Canon shooting friend too. You can grab this Nikon speaker lens of a knockoff in the traditional black or opt for the more ridiculously looking, extravagant silver painted one if you want to be different. Want the lowdown on specs? It's packing a built-in rechargeable battery that's charged using a USB cable, micro-SD memory card support, 3.5mm audio output and playback control buttons. Trust us when we say this isn't going to sound any better than your iPhone's speaker.

Audyssey Lower East Side Speakers Released

Ever since I've review the South Of The Market wireless speaker dock, Audyssey has won me over with incredible sound. Today, Audyssey has finally released a pair of desktop speakers dubbed the Lower East Side, or simply LES for short. The only thing that bothered me with Audyssey's incredible speaker dock was the hefty price tag of $399. You'll be glad to hear that these babies are set to cost you $199, a much more competitive price point for sure. Audyssey's LES desktop speakers promise you'll like the way they look on your desk, but even more so, you'll love how they sound. The LES desktop speakers let you hear every single musical detail with low bass, warm mids and clear highs. Sounds perfect right?

Specs per set:

  • Two 3.5-inch woofers
  • Two .75-inch silk dome tweeters
  • One 4-inch passive bass radiator
  • Digital optical audio input (TOSLINK)
  • 3.5 mm line input
  • 3.5 mm headphone output
  • Easy access volume control
  • Automatic standby mode

In addition to sounding great, these speakers have something pretty unique. A digital optical input, which means you can connect the Lower East Side speakers to an Apple TV and you have yourself an AirPlay-enabled wireless audio system. You'll be able to snatch a pair later this month for $199.

Plug Your iPod Into This Mini Amplifier

This Mini Amplifier might not be a Marshall, its got small speakers and a mini amp disguised inside a pretty neat looking amplifier box with bass and treble adjustment knobs. I highly doubt that the knobs even work, let alone expect any good sound quality out of this little thing. The Mini Amplifier can be powered using 4 AA batteries or a USB cable. While it's not a charging dock, it does have some sort of dock looking stand that will fit an iPod Classic. Connection is made using a 3.5mm audio cable allowing various other music players to be used. A mere working novelty item that you can get for $26.

Thanks for the tip, Kenneth!
