Twelve South Unveils HiRise Charging Dock For Apple Watch

Twelve South has unveiled its own docking accessory for the Apple Watch – one of the first of many anticipated to be released for the most talked about smartwatch. The HiRise for the Apple Watch bears a similar design to the company's impressive iPhone dock in that it offers an elevated view of your device whilst it is being charged. The HiRise for the Apple Watch has been designed to work with any model of the Apple Watch and strap combination and features the same elegant and sturdy all-metal design as the original HiRise for iPhone so you can also continue to interact with your Apple Watch when it's being charged.

This really is by far and away the best looking docking solution for the Apple Watch we've seen so far. And if it'll be anything like the company's HiRise for the iPhone and iPad - which we think is safe to say that it will be just as great - the HiRise for the Apple Watch is going to be the first third party accessory I'll be purchasing myself.

HiRise for Apple Watch is designed, like HiRise for iPhone, with a stable, metal base that lets you interact with the screen on your watch while it’s charging. See alerts, reply to messages or check the time at a glance. This brushed metal stand is elevated and angled just right so you can see your Watch screen while lying in bed or glancing over at a countertop. A non-slip rubber base keeps HiRise in place.

Rubber padding protects the Apple Watch from being damaged when set on the stand. A leather landing pad on the back of the base serves as a safe ground for the Apple Watch's strap and metal clasp to rest on. The HiRise utilizing the magnetic charging puck that comes with the Apple Watch to charge the device and magnetically hold it securely in place as it vertically sits atop of the stand. And like the HiRise for iPhone, Twelve South has devised a clean and aesthetically pleasing integration of the magnetic connector and the cabe concealment. Users will be able to quickly remove the magnetic charger from the back support when needed. It'll be available in May in silver and black for $50
